What This Tool Does

SSL Certificate Chain Checker connects to domains you enter and retrieves their TLS certificate chain. All checks are performed server-side. No certificate data is stored permanently — results are returned to your browser and discarded.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how this tool is used (e.g., page views, feature usage). GA4 may set cookies on your device to distinguish users and sessions.

• Google Analytics is required to use this tool. You must accept analytics cookies via the consent banner before running any certificate checks. If you decline, the tool will be disabled.
• When you run a certificate check and have accepted analytics cookies, we send a custom event to GA that includes the domain name you checked, the port, and the check result (secure/warning/error). This event is not sent if you have not accepted cookies.
• We have enabled IP anonymization (anonymize_ip: true), which instructs Google to truncate your IP address before storing it. However, Google may still briefly process your full IP address during the anonymization step before discarding it. We do not have access to any IP addresses — anonymized or otherwise — through our GA dashboard.
• If you decline, no GA scripts or cookies are loaded — zero data is sent to Google.
• You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

Cookies

This site uses cookies only when you accept analytics. Here's what may be stored:

• localStorage: cookie_consent — stores your consent choice ("accepted" or "declined"). This is not a cookie and contains no personal data.
• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — only set if you accept. Used to distinguish unique visitors. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• No personal information (name, email, or account data)
• No account or login system
• No IP addresses are stored by us (Google may briefly process your IP for anonymization — see Analytics section above)
• No third-party advertising or tracking (beyond GA4 with consent)
• No data is sold or shared with third parties

Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to:

• Decline cookies — analytics will not load and no data is sent to Google
• Change your preference — click "Cookie Settings" in the footer at any time
• Request data deletion — since we do not collect personal data or maintain user accounts, there is no personally identifiable data stored on our servers. The only data that may relate to you is in Google Analytics, where you are identified by a random client ID stored in the _ga cookie on your device. To request deletion, send us your GA client ID (found in your browser's cookies for this site) and we will purge the associated data from Google Analytics. In practice, this ID is not linked to your real identity in any way.
